Don’t you just love the way that kids can have the best time ANYWHERE?!? We had to take an exceptionally boring trip to the laundromat today, but it could have been Alton Towers for Big Sis.
She was climbing the stairs, then sitting down on each one in turn, opening and closing the empty washing machine doors, squashing her face against the front window, playing with the letter slot, and turning the knob on the big industrial dryer.
Then Daddy took her to the park and she had an absolute ball running in every direction, picking up leaves, climbing on the park benches, spotting the ‘woof woofs’, seeing the ‘quack quacks’ on the river, and pointing out planes in the sky.
I think that’s what I love the most about kids – they remind you to see the beauty and humour in absolutely everything.
The other day she insisted that I run in circles around the lounge with her, while holding a magazine on my head. I’m not sure what was weirder – that she wanted me to do it, or that I actually did as she requested (big pregnant belly bouncing about, and all…)
I love that she reminds me to stop being a grown-up every now and again, and just have a laugh – even if I look like a complete and utter tit while doing it!!
That’s cute. It’s amazing what they can get us to do isn’t it?
That’s adorable! Today I was dancing in the kitchen shaking morroccas on command! Good times…
When they are so happy doing the silliest or simplest of things you wonder why you do the expensive stuff. Give mine the park and an icecream anyday and they are happy.
Yep, thats the really wonderful thing about children. they find joy in even the simplest things, and in doing so make you find it too. xx
