Because I’ve teamed with my favourite online drinks retailer, 31.DOVER, to give away a bottle of the fruity deliciousness that is Tarquin’s Brilliant British Blackberry Gin. First, Tarquin’s Cornish Gin (Cornwall’s first gin in over a century) is distilled in traditional copper pot stills. Only the purest spirit – the heart – makes it to the bottle, where it’s infused with the juiciest, tastiest blackberries, and diluted with local spring water.
Finally, a touch of local wildflower honey is added for sweetness.
You get a nose of wild berries, blackberry crumble and sweet spice, followed by a body of summer pudding, crisp juniper, frangipani, then a fruity finish of raspberry sorbet, lemon sherbet and wildflower.

With sparkling wine. Gin goes well with sparkling wine (French ’75, anyone?) and although over here Kir usually means crème de cassis and sparkling wine, in France it means any one of various fruit liqueurs (including crème de mûre) with sparkling wine, so I reckon blackberry gin and sparkling wine should go together quite well.
With good company (others who appreciate great taste!!!) of slimline tonic, ice & a wedge of lime.
I would enjoy it as a Gin and tonic in the company of my good friend and fishing buddy Allan.

I have always wanted to try this gin and i would drink it neat with some ice.
I’m not a gin fan, but would give it to my mum. We’ve just enjoyed fruit salad with blackberries from the field, I bet she would like it with tonic and ice.

– 50ml Tarquin’s Blackberry Gin
– 120ml Sparkling Wine
Fill a large wine glass with ice. Add the gin and top up with Sparkling Wine. Garnish with fresh blackberries and mint.
