ORGANIC SKINCARE FOR TEENS & TWEENS // how to look after delicate skin

In all the end-of-term craziness it’s only just hit me that Big Sis will be hitting the double digits in a few weeks.

I’m swinging between feeling really proud of my soon-to-be Year Sixer, or shocked that she’s gone from cheeky toddler to sparky tween almost overnight. Seriously, WHERE has the time gone?! 

Big Sis has gorgeous olive skin, inherited from her Daddy’s side, but it’s always been dry and she suffered badly from eczema when she was a baby. I’ve always taken my skin care seriously, pinching moisturiser from Mum’s Avon pot when I was about the same age, and I’ve always credited this the reason why I’ve always had pretty good skin – even during the dreaded teenage years.

We’ve always been huge fans of Green People (it was the only brand we found in the early years that didn’t aggravate Big Sis’s skin condition), so I was really interested to see they’d launched the Oy! (Organic Young) ‘My Skin Goals’ range of quality skincare for tweens and teens.

The three-step routine consists of a foaming face wash, cleansing moisturiser and purifying serum. It contains natural ingredients, such as willow bark, green tea, prebiotics and tea tree, that gently remove built-up grime and excess oil while moisturising and calming irritation.

It seemed fitting that the skincare that had worked so brilliantly for Big Sis as a baby would be the same range to help her navigate the self-conscious years ahead. She’s not one for fussing about, but she’s been religiously using the three steps since her Oy! set arrived.

I can always tell when she’s used it, as her face is visibly dewier and the dry patches on her face completely disappear. She tells me her skin feels softer and more comfortable afterwards – not tight and dry like it often does – and I love that she’s establishing great skin care habits that will last her into adulthood.
