When I was a kid I used to stick with my head under the curtain and rest it on the cold windowsill, neck cricked at an awkward angle, just so I could fall asleep staring at the moon. 

There was just something comforting about that big old gleaming globe in the sky. 

So when I saw that fab online retailer LETTERBOX had this illuminated moon that doubled as a nightlight, I knew I had to get one for the girls. 

You might remember that I made over the girls’ room a few months ago, in this WOODLAND theme: 

I thought the moon would go brilliantly on the wall above Big Sis’s bunk bed (to the right of the photo), casting its soft moonlight across the decal woods, and fitting in perfectly with the hundreds of glow-in-the-dark stars I’d painstakingly stuck to the ceiling one afternoon. 

As I suspected, the girls ADORED the new lunar addition to their room (as you can see from Lil Sis’s reaction in the top pic). Now my evenings are punctuated with calls of: ‘Muuuuummeeeeee! Can you turn the moon on, pleeeeeeease?’

Now they can fall asleep gazing at the moon too! Except their necks won’t be nearly so sore afterwards. Thanks Letterbox.
