MY MINI-MUMMY

Lil Sis has just recently turned two years old, which, apparently, makes her a grown-up. Almost overnight she’s gone from my shy Mummy’s girl, to a bolshy, know-it-all toddler.

She refuses to hold my hand anymore, wants to pour her own drinks. She insists on dressing herself (badly), and brushing her own teeth and hair (very badly).

‘I do it Mummy, I do it,’ is all I seem to hear these days.

If I dare to try and help her out, she bellows in protest, and flings herself on the ground. ‘Nooooooooooooo!’ she screams, little hands and legs beating on the ground in sheer outrage.

Not only is she far too grown up to go in her pushchair anymore, she insists on pushing it herself – constantly zig-zagging towards people’s shins, because she can’t see where she’s going.

We bought her a mini-stroller, in the hope it might tempt her away from turning the full-sized version into a weapon of mass destruction. So now she spends all day pushing ‘Baby’ around (baby can be any of her repertoire of toys and teddies, and just this week alone has ranged from Jake the Neverland Pirate, to Little Charley Bear).

I know she’d be in heaven with this Baby Annabell, from Tesco.comLittle Annabell is no ordinary toy baby; not only does she cry, talk, and sleep, she drinks a bottle, reacts to sounds, and even cries real tears. The perfect practice for our little Mini-Mummy-in-Training.

That’s Christmas sorted then!
