WIN! A BESPOKE MERCI MAMAN NECKLACE

I don’t wear a lot of jewellery, so when I do I like it to be simple, elegant and have a meaning. Like this gorgeous personalised pendant, by MERCI MAMAN (nicknamed ‘The Duchess’ after being spotted on our very own Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge).

Hers is 18K gold plated, 80cm long chain, decorated with three charms – a tiny heart with the initial W (for William, of course), a central disc engraved with the name of our teeny future King George Alexander Louis, and a third charm in the figure of a boy. Cute, huh?

The great thing about these pendants is that you can pick and choose the charms to represent your own family life, so when the lovely team at Merci Maman asked if I wanted to create my very own personalised necklace, I said YES!

I chose the long chain in sterling silver, kept the heart blank (no offence to OH, I just wanted the design to be super simple) and had two ‘girl’ charms added. When it arrived in Merci Maman’s trademark bright orange gift box, I couldn’t wait to untie the white ribbon, and see my own bespoke necklace. And it was even more beautiful than I’d imagined.

You could see the quality at a glance. I’ve edited out the girls’ names on my necklace (above) they were beautifully engraved in French cursive (on both sides too, so it didn’t matter which way your pendant was facing). The chain was delicate and elegant, and I loved the contemporary length. But most of all I adored the fact that I had a lovely little reminder of the girls with me, wherever I went.
