OVER EXCITED. OVER TIRED. OVER IT.

The girls have had a busy few weeks.

First their Aunty Bronny came to visit from Australia for a month, then Aunty Charlotte came to stay while OH and I went to a wedding.

It goes without saying they were spoiled rotten

By the time this weekend ended, they were both totally strung out by the days out, and the late nights. The over-tired, naughty behaviour had begun to sneak in – a little hissy fit here, an indignant ‘NO!’ there. Let’s just say; the Naughty Step had a child-sized bum mark ingrained into the carpet.

It didn’t help that, the more tired they became, the more they refused to sleep – some nights not giving in until 11pm at night. Something had to give. And last night, it did.

There was an hour-long battle of wills, another tearful tantrum, a million excuses to get out of bed ‘I’m thirsty, I need a hug, I need one more kiss, I’m going for a wee…’ one strange thumping noise, then… silence.

When we checked, we found this…

Big Sis asleep on floor

All the fun and frolics had finally caught up with Big Sis, and she’d actually collapsed with exhaustion, mid-escape. About bloody time!

It’s weird isn’t it? It’s like the more tired they are, the more energetic they become!! xx

I know!!!! We’re slowly getting them back on schedule, but it really does take at least a week to ‘retune’ them x

Brilliant! G used to do this, he’d fall asleep clutching the stair gate at the top of the stairs. He has a habit of sneaking into other rooms after I think he’s in bed, falling asleep and scaring the living daylights out of me.  Good Luck with the new regime!

Awww I’ve yet to have this happen, currently we’re trying to get Alex to stop falling out of his bed… how the hell do we humans learn not to fall out of bed when we’re fast asleep?!
At least she finally fell asleep even if it was mid-escape! 😉

  11. Awww, poor thing, she must have been really exhausted…and you too. Here si to the new regime, fingers crossed xxx

Gah! OH does that – he’ll go and grab one of the girls if they’re crying and put them in our big bed. Then I got to check on them and crap myself to find an empty bed!!!! x
