When Lil Sis was born her eyes were the most amazing shade of sapphire blue. Over the next few years the blue mellowed, and took on some hazel flecks she inherited from her Daddy, but I could still get lost in them for days.
She’s an intuitive person; sometimes I look into those eyes and they’re so full of empathy and understanding it’s hard to believe they belong to a four year old. Other times they’re so full of mischief it literally makes me laugh out loud.
I’ve cheated a bit for The Gallery this week, as I didn’t take this photo – it was taken by a photographer during a professional shoot earlier this year. But this pic just so perfect, as it totally captured a side of Lil Sis; a serenity that’s such an intrinsic part of her personality, yet also the least-seen side of her, as she’s such a goofball!
I could stare into these eyes forever, but then I am a little biased…
This week’s prompt was inspired by SIGHTSAVERS charity and its ‘A Million Miracles’ campaign. Over the next three years they hope to restore sight to one million people living in some of the poorest parts of the world, with a simple but life-changing operation.
