CRAFTING WITH CADBURY (my freddo fail)

I have a confession to make. The team at Cadbury sent us a mystery crafting set the other week, which turned out to be everything you need to make a mahoosive loom band Freddo head. The girls were SO excited – ‘Mummy can we make it?!’ they cried. ‘Of course,’ I replied smugly. Then I proceeded to fail miserably with every attempt I made.

What ARE these devil bands? What sadist invented them? Why can 7-year-olds churn them out by the multi-coloured mile, while mine look like deformed neon worms?

So the upshot is, I gave up. Yes, I know it’s not a good example to set the little ‘uns, but I decided my time was better spent on the craft activities I’m really good at, like… OK, I’m not very good at any crafts, to be honest, but I’m really really bad at loom-banding Freddo heads.

So, in lieu of showing off my own Freddo head creation, here’s someone who actually has some crafting talent to rub it in demonstrate how it should have been done. This marvellous masterpiece took 150 hours, and 30,000 loom bands. That’s enough to stretch the length of a football field. One word: WOW.

I somehow missed the ‘fail’ part of the post title so I was seriously impressed when I saw this. Now I don’t feel so bad at not finishing mine yet 😉
