You know those perfect days when the planets just seem to align – when your kids are impeccably behaved, and you get only green lights, and your hair goes just how you want it on the very first try? 

These rare and magical days don’t come around very often – many people actually believe they’re a myth. But I can assure you, they’re not. Because I recently had one. 

I knew we were in for a good day within seconds of walking into Polly Pocket’s ‘Best Day Ever’ event. There was a table heaving with arts and crafts, and another covered with bowls of coloured beads for jewellery making. At the far side – a face-painting station. It was a Pre-schooler’s Paradise.

Big Sis stared for a moment, mouth hanging open, before rushing off to have her face painted. Lil Sis sped off to play with a humungous pile of toys, leaving me standing – rather conveniently – by the coffee and pastries. Score!

The girls were still bouncing around, like balls in a pinball machine, when us grown-ups sat down to hear all about the new POLLY POCKET BEST DAY EVER website. 

It’s pretty nifty – you just click on your local area to find a range of fab family events and activities.  Plus, they also have all kinds of other fun stuff, like quizzes, Polly Pocket webisodes, and free printable postcards. 

And if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day – the lovely Mattel team then handed us some tickets to the Chessington World of Adventures theme park next door. Squeeee!

Then we drove home, singing to the radio, and managing to completely avoid the peak hour traffic. Like I said – Best. Day. Ever.
