One of my favourite things is watching the girls lost in an imaginary world. I love listening to them having ‘grownup’ conversations with one another, pretending to be called Strawberry Rosie Strawberry Rosie (yes, that’s an actual name I’ve overheard, no, I have no idea where on earth it came from).
In a world where kids can navigate an iPhone before they can string a sentence together, I think it’s even more important for children to foster and grow their imaginations.
We were lucky to be sent this cute play cafe from ASDA’S range of wooden kids’ toys, and the girls have had so much fun playing shop. I’ve lost count of the number of cups of tea I’ve been served, and how many plastic chickens I’ve eaten since OH put it together for them (it looked daunting straight out of the flatpack, but took about an hour to construct, if you’re wondering).
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the set – for £35 I thought it was really good value – and now I’ve got my eye on the £40 Play Kitchen.
Anyway, I’d better go – my wooden hamburger is getting cold…
