Just what is up with this weather?!?
Not that I’m complaining (although a little advanced fake tan notice would have been nice for my glow-in-the-dark legs), as it’s been lovely to get outside, breathe in some fresh air, and shake off the winter cobwebs.
I’d bought this paint-your-own birdhouse for Big Sis a few weeks ago, but every time she asked to paint I fobbed her off because… because… ah hell, I’ll just be honest – I couldn’t bear cleaning up all the paint mess afterwards.
But the warm weekend weather meant she could get outside and get stuck in.
I bought the kits (a plain wood birdhouse, with a paintbrush and six paints) for just £3.50 from Big Sis’s playgroup, which I thought was really reasonable, especially considering it kept her entertained for a good hour. And the group gets a percentage of every sale to go towards their planned garden renovation, so it’s a win win!
So here’s how our avian art panned out:
Isn’t it cute?? I can’t wait to hang it up in our completed garden.
Now, as they say in France, ‘Bring on Zee Birdies!!’*
* NB: they don’t really say that in France.
