BREAD-Y… STEADY… GO!!

So there I was today, doing a spot of grocery shopping.

Lil Sis is at that awkward age where she hates being in the pushchair but when you let her loose she waddles off like a penguin jammed in fifth gear (you know when they’re learning how to run, but look more like a drunk stumbling towards a kebab shop?)

I skirted the issue by plonking her in the front of the trolley. Problemo solved.

While I was scanning the shelves, I noticed she’d fallen silent; the kind of silence that sends your Mummy alarm bells ringing. I turned around to find she’d pulled the bread from its wrapper, and helped herself to a little shopping basket buffet…

I knew that taking it off her would result in a mid-store nuclear meltdown, so decided to let her go for it, for the sake of a quiet life. But she didn’t stop at a few nibbles. By the time we arrived at the checkout half her arm had disappeared into the loaf. Seriously. She was literally wearing a bread sleeve.

I extricated her arm before it came out the other side, and salvaged half the loaf. I’m still undecided what to do with the hole-y part… Swiss cheese sandwich, maybe?!?
