MY AWESOME PHOTO (the gallery)

My camera packed up early this year. I was still on maternity leave and we had a half-finished, semi-furnished house, so forking out for a new camera just wasn’t an option.
Panicked doesn’t begin to describe how I felt. All those milestones coming up – how was I going to preserve them for posterity?
I started using my iPhone camera, but it was a poor replacement, with a fraction of the image quality. But then something strange happened. The pics I was snapping on my phone were turning out OK. In fact, some of them were kinda cool. Awesome, even.
What do you reckon??

I like the look of your house 😉

  2. Just goes to show, you don’t need a singing and dancing camera to capture beautiful shots!
They are all fab. I especially like the one of her walking past the big doors.

Midlife Single Mum: It is a GAWGUS house! Shall I continue to pretend that it’s mine, rather than the National Trust’s? Yes, I think I shall. 😉

Miriam: Exactly! It’s quite surprising how good camera phones are these days – the iPhone 4S (which I can’t afford yet, Grrrrr!!) has an amazing built-in lens. You just don’t need a separate camera for everyday shots anymore. x

I Heart Motherhood: If it’s any consolation, those were taken back over Summer – now most photos consist of Big Sis hooking her mouth open with both index fingers, or holding her palm out and saying, very firmly, ‘No more photos!’ Think she’s trying to tell me something..? x

  10. Those are lovely photos! I have taken some fab photos on my iPhone, I think if there is alot of light, it is a great camera! The colours on your photos are lovely, she looks like she’s doing a modelling shoot!

Nikki: Yes! You do need decent light, don’t you? That’s the biggest downside I think – night time pics are impossible!!! The iPhone 4S is supposed to have a fantastic lens – can’t wait to upgrade!! x
