FAMILY FESTIVAL FUN!

Big Sis is a summer baby, which means this year her actual birthday was spent in Bali (more about that trip later!).

It didn’t make sense to cart her presents halfway around the world, so we agreed we’d celebrate it properly the weekend after we got back. In a stroke of good luck our belated date timed perfectly with a challenge from the lovely Tesco team to have ourselves some Family Festival Fun, by sending us a cool summer essentials kit.

Sure, the weather was a little greyer than the blue skies and balmy temperatures we’d been enjoying in Indonesia, but it didn’t dampen the girls enthusiasm one little bit. They LOVED the funky play teepee we were sent (so did Mummy – how cool is that burnt orange/grey chevron design?!).

Of course, it’s just not festival chic without the right TESCO festival accessories: floppy hat and Frozen wellies for Lil Sis, floral headband, aviator shades and Minions boots for Big Sis (sequinned disco jacket and fringed Bali shorts – model’s own).

I set up their favourite playlist on the Sonos (Little Mix, Black Magic; Coldplay, A Sky Full of Stars, and anything from any Disney movie, ever), and it was like a mini Glasto right in our (slightly overgrown) back garden.

The girls spent hours out there dancing, and playing camping families, then tucked inside the teepee eating popcorn and watching movies on the iPad; it looked like so much fun I’d have joined them if there was enough room. I’m joking! (I’m not joking).

So now the girls have camping fever and keep asking when we can stay in a real tent in the real outside. Yeah, maybe next summer kids…
