Like many siblings, Big Sis and Lil Sis drive each other round the twist. But, when one of them is away – like the other week when Big Sis’s school had an inset day and Lil Sis’s didn’t – they wander around the house like lost little sheep.
On this day Lil Sis had asked: ‘Is it time to pick Big Sis up yet?’ about six times already… and it wasn’t even lunchtime. And it was rainy to boot so I couldn’t even send her outside.
Then I remembered that SLUMBERDOWN had sent us a king-sized Sleepwell bedspread inner, so the girls could make duvet dens. Perfect.
We opened up the 10.5 tog hollow fibre duvet, and stretched it over our three kitchen stools. I wedged a broom handle into one of the footrests, to give the microfibre ceiling a bit more height, stretched a couple of soft blankets on the floor and scattered some cushions to make it extra comfy. I draped a sarong across one side, so the hideaway was completely enclosed, and popped the iPad inside – loaded up with games and cartoons.
This was no run-of-the-mill non-allergenic duvet den, this was a luxury Bedouin cinema tent!
As you can see, Lil Sis was very happy with her duvet den. I might have been a teensy bit jealous.
