This post was inspired by Jules from I Need Curtains for the Window in my Head who has listed the Top 10 things she hopes to achieve this month.
I decided to give it a bash because I’m so utterly and completely overwhelmed by my ‘To Do’ list at the moment that I could probably do with sitting down and trying to set some realistic goals, rather than flapping about , and not making a lot of headway!
So, here we go – you never know, I might even get some of them done (don’t laugh – stranger things have happened..!)
1: Unpack at least 50% of our belongings. We moved in to our house more than two months ago, but due to the neverending renovations, we’ve only unpacked about four boxes and the rest are still jammed into our garage. I’m currently attempting to make dinner each night using just one knife, a tiny saucepan and a cheap Tesco wok. I’m also still living out of a suitcase, have just two pairs of shoes. The poor baby is growing out of all her onesies (the larger sizes are still packed away) and I still have some Xmas presents sitting in a box somewhere. Seriously.
2: Get a facial. I was pregnant for the best part of 2010, and felt rotten the entire way through. I joke that the pregnancy aged me five years, but I’m actually not kidding! This, and the lack of sleep, has meant I just look a bit drab and tired at the moment so I’d love to get a nice rejuvenating beauty treatment to give me a lift.
3: Get to the bottom of the laundry basket.
4: Start Bubs on Baby-Led Weaning. Not just yet though – maybe right at the end of the month. I can’t decide whether I’m excited by her reaching another milestone, or sad that she’s growing up so fast.
5: Visit more blogs, and leave more comments. Self explanatory. The new baby has been soaking up all my time but now I’m about to start introducing solids and some bottle feeds, so should maybe have a bit more time to myself. Maybe.
6: Go for a nice boozy meal with OH. We haven’t been out, just the two of us, and had a drink together for about a year and a half. On our last fancy meal out I’d just found out I was preggers, and when we went on holiday to St Lucia last May I was nearly five months pregnant. Then I had mini-Monkey, but have been breastfeeding exclusively. I was holding out for New Year’s, but OH got hideously ill with the flu. So now it’s become a bit of a mission of mine to go out and have a few drinks. I don’t want to get drunk, I just want to have a few vinos with me fella. That’s not too much to ask, is it??
7: I’d love to get to the gym, if the planets all align, and my stressed out OH stops working long enough to take the kids for an hour.
8: Get a new battery for the car. We bought a used car two weeks ago. Yesterday the battery died. Bloody typical.
9: Make some career decisions. I love features writing, but it’s getting harder for a simple Mum-of-Two to compete with the big news agencies. I need to diversify and start exploring some family friendly options to complement my writing. Or win the lottery.
10: Win the lottery.

Thank you so much for joining in! It’s a really great list of things to get done…..I especially like the getting a facial and going out for a boozy meal…they both sound lovely 🙂 x
I’m with you on number ten. And number two.
3 & 5 for me 🙂
Oh God I have a long “to do” list in my head. Maybe I should make point 1 = write it down…
Because as the days go by… my head is firmly in the sand and the list (in my head) is no closer to getting done…
I want to do number 10 too.
Some you time needs to be a priority- so make sure those planets align and get out for a facial or massage or something.
Baby led weaning is great, and so easy 🙂
