Christmas. Otherwise known as – the only time of year when drinking cocktails for breakfast is not just accepted, but practically encouraged. Well, that’s my story at least, and I’m sticking to it.
I’m quite particular with what I imbibe; my favourites are drinks that are light, with a fruity twist. Think: New Zealand sav blancs with notes of melon, passionfruit caiprioskas and – my current love affair – a Grey Goose Le Fizz.
I first tried the Le Fizz with elderflower cordial, but then discovered ST GERMAIN elderflower liqueur, from 31.Dover. A whole new level. If you fancy trying it out for yourself (go on, it’s delish!) I’ve popped the recipe below.
- 1 ½ parts Grey Goose vodka
- 1 part St. Germain elderflower liqueur
- good squeeze of fresh lime juice
- 2 parts soda water
- a few ice cubes
Pour the vodka, elderflower liqueur, lime juice and ice cubes into a St. Germain cocktail mixing carafe, give it a good mix and strain into a chilled champagne flute. Top with soda water to taste, then enjoy.
To help you on your Christmas cocktail way, I’m giving away a St. Germain Carafe gift set, worth £21.95. If you’re over 18 and live in the UK, you can enter by following the Rafflecopter prompts. Good luck!
