When it came to deciding on a theme for Big Sis’s room we knew what we didn’t want – this was to be a pink, frills, flowers and butterfly-free zone.

Our shortlist was jungle, ocean and outer space, but after to-and-fro-ing about a dozen times (‘Definitely jungle, Mummy!’ I’ve changed my mind – I want ocean now’ ‘Hmmmm…. planets would be cool though… ‘ ‘No, I think I’d like jungle… ‘ *cue the tearing out of hair*), we finally made an executive decision – outer space.

Big Sis’s bedroom ended up being the most dramatic of the room renovation during our big home renovation, as our old family bathroom had to be ripped out first.

To say I had fun with the interior design of this room is an understatement – you can see some of the cool space-themed decorations I managed to find in this before-and-after kids’ bedroom makeover post, and I currently have my eye on a roller blind with a glow-in-the-dark star pattern.
