I thank my lucky stars that I work from home. Sure, it has its downsides – not many office jobs simultaneously require you to hang out washing and put the groceries away – and you never quite switch off from work.
The upside is I can do the school run every day, and attend the girls’ school plays and teacher meetings, and I’m always close by if they fall ill, or just need Mum.
But, even though I’m always there in person, the fact I’m working means it’s not always quality time. It’s easy to get lost in emails and deadlines, and forget to simply enjoy their company.
So it was lovely to have a proper excuse to close the laptop this weekend, and devote an entire evening to just hanging out, and enjoying a girls’ night in.

We’re already planning our next girls’ night in. Next time it’s ice cream sundaes and Cinderella. And I can’t wait!!

Aww! Sounds like the perfect night in x
How grown up are they looking! What a lovely night 🙂
I totally feel your pain on this one – I work from home too and although it means I’m pretty much always there for Belle, a lot of the time I’m definitely not ‘there’ in the quality time sense. It’s just so hard to switch off when your office is in a corner of your living room.
