It’s a curious fact that the smaller your children are, the more stuff they need.
By the time you’ve packed nappies, wipes, food, water, bibs, snacks, a change of clothes (for spillage) a long-sleeved top in case it’s cold, a short-sleeved top in case it’s hot, sunscreen, one hat per child, a baby toy that spits out some god-awful electronic version of Old McDonald, a book for the pre-schooler, your camera, phone, wallet and your keys… well, let’s just say I’ve learned to go super-sized when it comes to my handbags.
So you can imagine how my heart quickened with excitement after setting sight on these gorgeous new handbags by Mia Tui.
They’re designed with busy modern Mums in mind, but seamlessly cross over to become fashionable, functional bags for business, travelling, or taking on holiday.
What I instantly loved about my Silver Weave Amelie was the generous size, the scale of which is kindly demonstrated by Lil Sis in the photo above.
It was big enough to hold all those child and baby essentials without having to cram everything in, or feeling too bulky.
The handles were wide enough to nicely distribute the weight of the bag, so it felt comfortable over my shoulder. There was also a long removable shoulder strap, which I used to loop the bag over the back of the double pushchair.
Inside held further drool-inducing delights, such as a completely waterproof interior (no more leaky water bottles soaking through the bottom of my bag!), and a key holder (no more scrabbling for 10 minutes to find my house keys, panicking that they’ve dropped out and I’ll have to kick the front door in).
But wait – there’s more! A phone pocket, a water bottle holder, a matching clutch bag, and two clear plastic bags that you can use to store everything from travel documents, to (more likely in my case) a spare nappy.
I used my Mia Tui Amelie bag all through the Easter break and it held up with the rigeurs of our balmy long weekend just brilliantly.

brilliant pic!
I have one of these bags and I absolutely love it! As you’ve mentioned it holds everything and also looks great. I use mine on a day to day basis but it comes into its own when we go travelling and I use it as my hand luggage. The other plus point is that my husband is not embarrassed to carry it (I have the brown version) as long as I call it the “changing bag” not “my handbag”… although we both know deep down that I won’t be getting rid of it once it is no longer a changing bag!! I can totally recommend this bag to anyone.
The very fact that you can actually fit a baby in it means that it would fit all of my stuff into it! Lovely pic! Emma 🙂
