BALI, BRITMUMS & BASE FASHION

Last week, if I’m honest, was a bit rubbish. A little back story: we’re traveling to a family wedding in Bali this summer – which will be completely amazing – but at the moment I’m stuck in that stressful pre-holiday planning stage.

On top of trying to sort out everything that we’ll possibly need before, during and after the holiday, I’ve also had to sort out new passports for the girls. First the photo booth was broken, then I couldn’t find anyone to countersign the application, then I had to fill the forms in seven times before they were accepted by the Check and Send service. SEVEN. TIMES. Sigh.

I’m a ‘leave-everything-until-the-last-minute’ kinda girl at the best of times, but on this occasion I had a genuine excuse for not getting them sorted out sooner.

We’d been taken off guard when Big Sis didn’t get into either of our preferred junior schools, being sent instead to some random school we’d never heard of. As a result I’ve spent the past six weeks drowning in paperwork, attempting to get her reallocated somewhere that’s actually humanly possible to get her to each morning. Double sigh.

But then my luck turned on a dime.  The passport applications finally got completed and sent off (YESSSS!) then a letter arrived offering Big Sis a second round place at our first-choice school (such a relief!).

Then – because good things always come in threes – I was absolutely thrilled to confirm my Britmums Live sponsor; cool, classy kids’ online retailer, BASE FASHION. I utterly adore this website; have you seen the phenomenal fashion? Everything from Barbour, to UGG Australia, to Armani Junior *drools*.

I’ll be telling you more about Base Fashion – including their incredible 105-year history – in an upcoming post, but for now I just want to say how excited I am to be collaborating with them (like, silly, squeal-y type excited).

And…  how pleased I am to be attending Britmums Live again, after missing last year for the first time since the event began in 2010 (Wow. Has it really been that long?!).

So, what about you; will I see you there?

Oh wow, firstly I can totally relate to all of this, did you hear about passportgate for our Marbella trip? I made sure I actually went in person to sort the passport out for Oliver pre Jamaica after all that… yay for the second round application re the school (school applications are so stressful, we moved not long before Oliver applied and were so lucky to get into the village school 5 minutes from our house: our first choice)- and your friend’s wedding will be amazing. Wow! We have reviewed BASE FASHION and it is a stunning brand, so glad you will be attending again, it will be lovely to see you x
