So. I’ve bored regaled you with stories of the house renovations we bravely (stupidly?) undertook with a two-year-old, and a 12-week-old baby.
Now, 16 months later, we’ve finally started attacking the garden. Yay!
When we first moved in the back yard was a wild, horrendous mess. I wouldn’t have been surprised to find a lost Amazon tribe foraging for food in the back corner.
We had all the overgrown bushes stripped out last year, but it was still dilapidated, dirty, and dangerous, with crumbling brick work, a stagnant fish pond, and lots of lovely levels for children to tumble off.
As Lil Sis was still crawling last Summer, there was no way we could let the kids out there. Hence my excitement that this year I won’t be trapped in a stifling hot house with two under 4s. Double Yay!
Anyway, I thought you might like to watch the transformation unfold (probably not – which is too bad, since I’m going to show you anyway!).
So this is how it looked a week ago:

| the whole place was a hazard |

| we’re keeping the kid – the rest is going |
And this is how it’s looking part way through…
And here are the girls watching the gardeners, just ’cause it’s cute…
And here they are already enjoying the garden. Roll on summer!!

Oh I bet it shall look gorgeous, I am very interested to see. Love the pic of the girls so cute
Fantastic! This is something that I have to do this year. I really don’t know where to start!
Also mid-renovations on our Victorian monstrosity. The garden needs to go in a skip. Or two. I am summoning the energy and hoping the money wafts in from one of those trees my Mum used to tell me about!
D’you know what? I don’t think I could go through renovations even with older children, never mind a baby! I bet you’re looking forward to a nice glass of chilled something on a patio in a perfect garden!
Good luck, it’ll be worth it in the end. x
Oh I know how that feels, we decided to take on our manky garden when K was a baby. It’s worth it though especially the way the weather is lately. Hope you’re all enjoying it x
