The trouble with juggling babies and working from home is that, even though you spend pretty much every waking moment inside your house you rarely have any free time to do all those non-essential tasks; like hang pictures, and sort out your photo albums, and change out of your pyjamas (ahem).
OH, unfortunately, always has much more pressing jobs to do around the home (like fixing the tap that sounds like a deranged jackhammer every time we turn the hot water on).
Which is how all my lovely framed photos of the girls came to be languishing on top of the wardrobe, slowly growing a skin of dust.
Then… a saviour! An email appeared in my inbox ‘Would you like to try the Takker?’ it read. The TAKKER, if you’re not familiar, is a nifty little device that allows you to hang pictures on plasterboard, plastered walls or wooden surfaces, without needing a single nail OR shred of DIY nous!
Perfect.
Basically, you get your TAKKER, load a little tack into the chamber, place it on the wall where you want it to go, and press down. Hey presto! The tack is stuck securely into the plasterboard, and can hold up to 10kgs.
Sure, it took a bit of holding pictures against the wall, then standing back and squinting, and highly technical stuff like that, but below is the (half) finished result. Sooooooooo…. what do you think..?

Love this. I saw it a whole back and suggested it to DH but he was all “I’m sure it won;t hold, it doesn’t look very secure” and now I can tell him that someone used it and loved it!
Make sure you also finish up with: ‘Na Na Na-Na Nah!’ Then blow a raspberry.

This is exactly what we need in my house. The OH is allergic to DIY so he doesn’t do anything like that and if I so much as look at a drill I get a nose bleed!

this looks amazing….but after watching the video I just don’t get how it’s any different to me hammering a nail in? it doesn’t seem long enough….our walls are crap so I’d be interested to see how well it worked…I may become addicted to hanging pictures!
