I bloody love Twitter. As well as having a good old natter and a laugh on there, it’s also become my guide to life.
How do I get the smell of baby pee out of the carpet? Ask Twitter. Do I use the stalks of the watercress, or just the leaves? Twitter will know. How the hell do I unblock my sink without a plunger? Literally no question is too big, or too outlandish.
And now Twitter is even preparing dinner for me.
OH is (bizarrely) allergic to potato. A life without roasties, chips, mash, or crisps. Can you even begin to imagine?? So when I decided to make a fish pie the other week, I had to find a suitable tattie alternative.
Since I have stuff-all knowledge about such things, I turned to the great all-knowing Twitter. Or, to be more specific, the lovely ladies Jo and Karen from @FishistheDish.
Turns out they run a website advising Mums on how to include more fish in their diets, as well as answering questions on everything, from how to cook fish, to how to convince kids to eat more of it!
So they did a bit of digging, and came back with a recipe for a fab puff pastry topped creamy fish pie, filled with salmon, haddock and prawns. And here it is – Ta Dah!!
I have to tell you it was deeeeeelish. I even got a bit creative and added some cod, peas and sweetcorn. Crazy, huh?
Let me know if want the recipe, and I’ll email it to you!!

Looks fab Jax,
Glad it worked, there are more recipes on our website. If you want any more help with recipe and serving suggestions, just holler on twitter @fishisthedish
Looks amazing. Btw you can also make the mash with cauliflower or parsnips (with plenty of salt, pepper and butter).
That looks like a lovely recipe! I will check out the website as I don’t eat enough fish! It’s true about twitter I have a moth problem and asked for advice and got loads and I wanted doll ideas for my little girl and got loads! It’s great!
