MONKEY LOVES… (articulate frames)
These brilliant wooden art frames from Articulate…
How often does your child’s artwork languish on the front of the fridge, edges curling, and colours fading in the sun?? Yet it’s so hard to throw away something they’ve made with their own chubby little hands…
Big Sis loves drawing (just ask the walls of our old flat…). But while I’d love to keep some of her art for sentimental reasons, it’s always hard to know exactly what to do with it. After all, it can’t stay on the fridge forever – not with a constant flow of new designs all vying for pole position!
The clever design of the wooden Articulate frame allows you to display and preserve all their mini-masterpieces. They feature side openings, to easily slide the artwork in, and deep, open apertures so you can even display 3-D pictures and collages.
Here’s Big Sis, demonstrating how simple it is:
And here is the finished result, all framed up and looking gorg!
The range includes single, £14.99, double, £19.99 and triple frames, £24.99, and also comes in an A3 size, £19.99. There’s even a set of eco-friendly cardboard frames, currently on sale for £14.99.
So get your very own frame from: www.articulategallery.co.uk and preserve those arty childhood memories forever.

MONKEY LOVES… (vertbaudet)
The VERTBAUDET Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Check out ‘Lil Sis sporting this lovely little ensemble which includes cropped trousers, and a floral blouse with a jersey cardigan overlay.
And it’s currently on sale at £14.40, down from £18.00. Squeeeeee!! Oh, and please try to look past her strange purple-ish lobster claw feet – they don’t look like that in real life.
Honestly.

MONKEY LOVES… (cargo ipad mount)
Sometimes the simplest things revolutionise your life – like wooden tongs that stop you burning your fingers on your toast, or pull-tops on spaghetti tins so you don’t need a can opener (brilliant, BTW!)
And now… the CarGo iPad mount.
I’m very lucky to have an Apple iPad – a ‘thanks very much for going through pregnancy, and childbirth to give me my two gorgeous daughters’ gift from OH last year.
I just love it – when I can prise it out of Big Sis’s hand, that is. Somehow she’s under the impression that it’s her personal Toy Story 3 watching device.
Which is annoying when I want to read my on-line copy of Marie Claire, but very handy when I need an hour’s peace and quiet to work/make dinner/collapse in a heap.
So my ears pricked up when I read about the Cygnet CarGo iPad mount.
A quick begging email to their PR team (please… I don’t just want this, I NEED this..!) and it was in my quivering hands.
Basically, you clip the CarGo mount to the back of your car’s head rest, then slide your iPad securely into the plastic frame.
Turn it on, find your child’s favourite video, and voila! your child has their own private viewing screen to keep them occupied on long car journeys.
Now OH’s family live in Devon, so this will be a Godsend when we travel down this Summer.
The mount is designed so that you can still use the earphones. Great news, since – as clever as Toy Story 3 is – Woody and the gang get a little tiresome after the 53rd viewing.
The CarGo was really simple to put together, and even easier to clip to the back of the car’s head rest. I loved the way you could tilt it in all directions to reduce sun glare.
Big Sis was thrilled, and I didn’t hear a peep from her for the whole journey. When we arrived back home I quickly and easily released the iPad from the mount.
And best of all, it costs just £29.99, rather than the £100-ish you’d fork out for one of those in-car dvd players.
The Cygnett CarGo iPad mount was provided for ‘Monkey Loves’ and is available from Amazon.co.uk.

I’d get it if I had a car or an ipad. LOL
I do have a MacBook though.

This gadget is fab, thought about something like that for my iphone in the car but this looks so much better with an iPad. I now have another reason to purchase an iPad!! 🙂

Hi,
Just got a CarGo but after installing it I’m a little worried my daughter will get a face full of iPad in an accident.
What are your thoughts?
-
You mean in the event of a head-on collision, whether it would dislodge from the mount? That’s a really interesting question – I will make enquiries with the company and post back here. Thanks for your comment.
-
Yes, plus after watching crash test film and the way the child head is thrown forward, I wonder if the child’s head would hit the screen even if it stayed in place.
I am a little disappointed at how far the CarGo protrudes (toward the child’s face) from the seat, I think the plastic arm is too long and it’s a shame it can’t be adjusted. Considering returning it.

MONKEY LOVES… (stardust kids)
How cool are these??? I found them on one of my favourite websites STARDUST KIDS and they’re currently on sale – down from £25 to £15 (get in quick – I think the sale ends today).
I’m hoping to get Todzilla pair before they sell out – she’ll win the ‘Best Dressed for Bed’ award for sure. They also have some fab retro t-shirts, gifts and toys.

Ooh this is gorgeous, sure bear would love it too, who cares if it’s for girls!
My little girl will love having a play on this (I think I might quite like it too).
Hi Jacqui! I’m super-excited and delighted that you and Big Sis liked our Magic Belles site. My 5-year-old will be so excited that she’s ‘famous’ tomorrow! Can’t wait to show her! Thanks a million, Maxine x
I’ll make a note of the website for when my little girl is a bit older! (@pandcands)
I’m going to have a go at the Rainbow cake for my daughters birthday next weekend. Can’t wait til she’s old enough to have a play on the website 🙂 Rachel x
