NIGHT NIGHT NUTTER!!

Big Sis is a sociable creature, and this extends both to her human friends, and stuffed inanimate ones.

Below is what her cot looks like at night – like she’s been buried beneath a stuffed toy avalanche (can you spot her in the top pic??). And, boy oh boy, do I get in trouble if I try to remove even a single teddy from the pile.

You will also notice two sippy cups – one pink, one yellow – both of which must go to bed with her, the milk always on her right and the water always on her left. It’s never the other way around.

There are also two blankets, which much be pulled up THE MICROSECOND she lays down, or much wailing ensues, until they’re firmly tucked under her chin.

The eagle-eyed among you will also spot a big plastic ball, which also has to stay with her at night. This is presumably so, should she wake in the early hours and be overcome with the urge to play keepy-uppys, or spin a ball on her finger, etc, she has all the tools with which to do so.

Do your little ones have any strange bedtime rituals???

Sweet! Must be be fun trying to find her in the morning!

My son has to go to sleep on one of our pillows as it is an oxford slip with a frill. He runs the frill through his fingers till he falls asleep. He’s obsessed with seams, loves stroking them when he’s sleepy!

  2. Aw, this made me giggle! Would love to see how she packs to go on holiday wheh she’s older. I’m guessing she won’t travel light.

Ha, ha. At least you can see that she can breathe in the last pic. Very cute. We have to have huggy, huggy, kissy, kissy every night. Two rounds some nights and warm up doggies, plus special sleeping pal. And mine are 6 and 8!!

  4. So cute, and very funny. My eldest was similar at this age with her soft toys – although not quite as extreme, I have to say! My youngest has to have a soft toy on her face in order to go to sleep. Weird creatures, children.

  5. Oh thats so cute! She reminds me of myself when I was a child! I used to do the same I had a million and one teddies in my bed and could barely fit! Even now I still have a few special ones in my bed!

  6. Little M has rituals as well but he’s funny all his cuddly toys have to be at the end of the bed away from his head. If I forget the music…he moans, I have to make sure he’s comfy and leave his door open ‘loudly’??? Don’t ask? 😉 They’re funny aren’t they.

  7. Okay..I thought Little P was bad. I mean she is pretty obsessed with her cuddly toys. She kisses them so her body shakes. She takes them all to bed with her too, along with a squares of cloth which she likes to coil around her finger (??), and a sheet of stickers for early morning sticking (???)…but this, this is insane…! As for the football…I’m baffled.

  8. I remember a friend of mine who would line her teddies up in the bed so there was only a tiny bit left at the edge and then she would get in the other end because the bit left was for her guardian angel! (It wasn’t me I swear…)

Hilarious! My friend’s wee one has to have all her blankets in with her – and we are talking, like, 16 blankets or something. And all on her face at one time. Cute.
