PANASONIC BEAUTY (home technology & hair removal)

When you hear Panasonic you think of televisions, right? Wrong.

Well, no, actually you’re right – BUT did you know this well-known Japanese brand has broken free from their home electronics mould, and now has their eye firmly on consumer beauty?

They’ve turned decades of knowledge and research towards creating products that will revolutionise the home health and beauty market, and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Panasonic HQ to see these innovative products close up.

The Panasonic beauty department has already released several key hair and beauty pieces, including a hydrating Facial Steamer that gently removes surface dirt and opens pores for deeper cleaning, and the Straight and Curl straightener with ceramic plates that protects hair and prevents colour fade.

I’m an obsessive hair washer, so I was really interested to hear about the Nanoe hairdryer. I’ve always been wary of damaging my hair by blow drying it every other day, but this model actually creates millions of negative ions that break down the water particles in your wet hair. This water-busting technology means you can dry your hair without stripping out all the moisture from your hair follicles. Pretty clever stuff, right?

But I think the product I was most interested in was the Intense Pulsed Light hair removal system, available this spring. I know that courses of IPL cost upwards of £300, so this is a beauty investment that would soon be earning its keep.

It works by delivering pulses of light in the lower layers of skin; during the process the light is converted into heat that kills the cells making the hair, causing the hair to fall out without irritation. Over time, as each new cycle of regrowth is prevented, you’ll eradicate unwanted body hair. Then it’s simply a case of continuing to use the Panasonic IPL – less frequently – for maintenance.

It sounds like the perfect way to get ready for summer; in fact, I’ll be trying it out last this year, so follow me on BLOGLOVIN’ if you don’t want to miss that post.

Panasonic beauty are determined to carve out themselves a place in a competitive market by offering a professional and cost effective salon experience from the comfort of your own home.

I LOVE my Nanoe Hairdryer and even my hairdresser has commented on how the condition of my hair has improved since I have been using it. I haven’t heard of the IPL Hair Remover though, this sounds like a great piece of kit. Anything that saves me money and keeps me looking good is a winner in my book 🙂
