Growing up, Mum always used to tell me she preferred homemade presents.
I always assumed she was trying to make me feel better about the hideous clay ashtrays I used to make her in art class. But it turns out she was telling the truth all along! I can honestly say the thoughtful little gifts and notes the girls make for me mean a million times more than a store-bought card ever could.

The green spiky thing, centre right, is a Christmas tree drawn by Big Sis, with red and gold decorations. The starry looking things are, well, stars. And the big swipes of colour were smeared specially by Lil Sis. Finally, those little green squiggles in the middle spell ‘Mum’.
It’s my very own sparkly, one-of-a-kind Christmas card, made with love just for me. Eat your heart out Hallmark.
