ALL HALLOW’S EVE (pumpkin lanterns)

Pumpkin Lanterns

This year is my second ever attempt at carving pumpkin lanterns, and I gotta admit I’m kinda pleased with this one. Not because it’s great (I know it isn’t) but because it’s sooooo much better than the orange monstrosity I made last Halloween.

I learned from my original pumpkin mistakes – like keeping the features simple, and carving the lid at an angle so it didn’t just fall straight through when I tried to put it back on (yes, I realise NOW how obvious that sounds).

I’m also kinda chuffed that I remembered I had some BAKER ROSS LED tea lights from our last craft kit, which I used inside the pumpkin lanterns. The glowing gourds looked frighteningly fab perched on the porch outside the front door.

The girls thought my efforts were awesome – I reckon I have maybe one more year left before they cotton on to the fact that my carving skills are actually decidedly average. Until then, I’m going to milk their admiration for all it’s worth.

Happy Halloween everyone!
