Firstly, I cut off the bottom two inches of the original playsuit (before pic, above L), including the poppers and cuffs that had originally formed the leg holes. I used the Sew Simple applicator to smear a line of fabric glue along the bottom (top R pic), then carefully turned up the hem, sticking the two edges together.
The glue activated quickly, changing to a flexible, rubbery consistency. I kept a gentle pressure on it, and the hem was neatly and firmly sealed within minutes.
I left it for half an hour before ironing. I was a bit worried the heat would melt the rubbery glue, but it held up perfectly. It can be washed as normal too.
Here’s the finished result, modelled by Lil Sis, which I’m really rather chuffed with!

NEWSFLASH: I used Sew Simple to glue an unravelling seam in my slippers… and it worked brilliantly! Is there no end to the talents of this fabric glue?!?
