My sister and I weren’t what you’d call buddies growing up; mortal enemies would be closer to the truth. I’m talking eardrum-shattering arguments, and actual bare knuckle fist fights.
So it’s lovely – and slightly bizarre – to me that my girls get on so amazingly well. Of course they still fall out now and then, but they genuinely adore each other’s company. Even on those days when they’re driving each other mad they still follow each other around, simply unable to keep away from one another.
Big Sis has always been super independent, while Lil Sis loves nothing better than a good cuddle. What I love about their relationship is that Lil Sis brings out the sweeter, softer side of Big Sis – as you can see from this photo, which I knew was perfect to link to SIBLINGS 15 May.
We were visiting the WEST WYCOMBE ESTATE the other weekend when I snapped this shot of the two of them. It was such a gorgeous day – the sun was shining, and the grounds stunningly tranquil. The girls had a blast skimming stones, picking dandelions, and rolling down the grassy hills.
Much better than mortal hand-to-hand combat, right sis?

Oh what a gorgeous picture! It really sums up the best part of having a sister that you get on with, that closeness and friendship that nothing else quite replicates!
Totally agree Carie; if you’re lucky enough to get on well with your sibling(s) you really do have a best friend for life! xx #CornybutTrue
I love this photo, it’s funny reading what you wrote about you and your sister, made me think you could interpret it as one strangling the other haha. Nice to know that it’s a beautiful hug and such a gorgeous scene. Great capture #siblings
Haha! It’s so funny you should say that – initially I was going to use another photo, until OH pointed out that the hug looked more like a wrestling headlock… 😉 xx
Such a stunning picture! This is definitely one to keep and I’m sure they’ll love looking at this when they’re old 🙂
