
They say a picture says a thousand words, and I reckon this is even more true with children.
They haven’t learned yet to hide their emotions, so everything they feel is written right there on their faces. I think that’s what I love the most about being a mum, being privy to that all the wonder and delight they see in the world.
It reminds me to truly appreciate the small things – the clouds in the sky, the fragrance of a wildflower, singing when a favourite song comes on the radio, and laughing – loudly, and as often as possible.
On this day Big Sis and I had visited the LONDON ZOO for the premiere of a Barbie film. Afterwards, we were allowed to explore the zoo, and I took this by the penguin viewing window. Big Sis had just seen one swimming past and I managed to capture her sheer delight.
Simple pleasures.
