SPLISH, SPLASH, SPLAT // kids’ rain boot review

Kids and mud; they go together like hangovers, and bacon sandwiches.

Usually I spend my time dragging the monkeys away from muddy puddles, but yesterday I was encouraging them to splash away to their heart’s content.

I’d come across these cool Splats boots, and managed to wangle Big Sis a pair, in ocean blue, to try out. Not only do they look pretty darn snazzy in their vibrant colours, they’re brilliantly practical too.

They were invented by two mums, Rainbow and Amy, who were desperate for an alternative to clunky, inflexible wellies their own kids refused to wear.

They designed Splats to be comfortable, flexible, lightweight and waterproof. The soles are slip-resistant, and shock-absorbent, and the velcro straps helps to stop water from splashing over the top of the boot. They even have light-reflective piping, so your kids can be more easily spotted in low light.

Here they are, being seriously put through their paces at Burnham Beeches:

We had a FAB time in the ‘Magic Forest’, the kids got filthy dirty – great time had by all!! 😉

  5. Hi,
I have a pair of these for my son and he loves them, I can’t find them any more to buy a bigger size now. Any idea on why they have disappeared after rave reviews?
