My parents used to take me to Pick-Your-Own farms when I was about the same age as Lil Sis is now. I remember walking along, eating a lot more strawberries than I put in my basket, thinking this was just the BEST PLACE EVER!
There’s a farm just up the road from us we love to take the girls to now; they grow the usual PYO standards – raspberries, gooseberries, blueberries, and strawberries – and recently added a cute outdoor cafe in a yurt, so it’s always a nice day out.
This pic was taken on the day that temps soared to 30+ degrees throughout most of the UK, so we were absolutely roasting as we wandered through the strawberry fields strawberry fields picking the biggest, juiciest ones we could find. I had planned to make jam with the berries, but they were so delicious we polished them all off for dessert that night.
Must be time for another visit, then…

It is one of my favourite things to do in the summer, although I really like picking fresh peas and eating them. I hope you have many more adventures at the PYO soon #CountryKids
