This Flashback Friday 22 May photo literally makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. How freakin’ adorable was Big Sis (about four months old here, I reckon)? I can’t believe she’ll be turning seven this summer *stifled sob*.
I absolutely loved this sheepskin Gap Baby hat, in fact it’s upstairs right now in my little baby keepsake box, with her first pair of bootie shoes, and the hospital wristband.
I remember I took her Christmas shopping in the baby carrier while she was wearing this hat. As I got to the counter to pay for my presents Big Sis started wriggling, and the shop assistant nearly jumped out of her skin. ‘OH MY GOD!’ she squealed, then she started laughing. ‘I thought you were holding a stuffed teddy bear,’ she explained, ‘suddenly it started moving!’
Big Sis was such a serious baby – she never really giggled like most babies do (Lil Sis was a right little chortler, and thought I was hilarious) and you could only tell she was smiling when a twinkle came into her eye. It was almost as if she felt our attempts to make her laugh were a bit beneath her.
Such a difference between then and now, when her cheeky little giggle rings constantly through the house.
