This will be my fourth year as an official blogger for the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards, 2015, and I can honestly say it’s one of the highlights of my entire year.
It’s a day that literally evokes every emotion – excitement beforehand, slight nerves on arrival, wide-eyed wonder as you sip champagne alongside celebrities such as Fearne Cotton – this year’s Celebrity Ambassador – Emma Griffiths, and David Hayes (OH was very impressed with that one!), tears as you listen to the finalists’ emotional stories, and joy as you help celebrate their amazing achievements.
From thousands of nominations, 28 inspirational women have been selected to make the prestigious short list, for the 10th annual Tesco Mum of the Year awards. They range from Mums who’ve raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity, to those who’ve made huge contributions to their local communities.
Since the first awards in 2006 more than 80 deserving women have been recognised, and their causes and charities given invaluable exposure. This year every shortlisted woman will receive £1000 from Tesco, for the charity of their choice.
I’ll be telling you more about the winners early next year, before reporting back on the big day, in March. Until then, you can read all about them HERE. But prepare to be seriously humbled!
